Leafy Greens salads in Spring is not only healthy but light and refreshing (Easy spring greens recipes via olivemagazine.com)

When the weather gets warmer a salad for lunch is light and refreshing and even my grandmother would tell me to drink a hot drink in the warmer weather. I never believed her until I had a cold in the summer and I drank tea instead of a cold drink. It does cool you down faster than a cold drink!

Don't skip the doctor's visits - health.harvard.edu (an annual visit at least to the doctor's isn't a bad idea

I am that person who hardly go to the doctor as pharmacies have always been the place to get remedies that work.

It's not a bad idea to go to the doctor for a general check up every year although surgeries are getting more crowded!

Reading food labels and understanding what is in our food is helpful but not vital (Do I need to read food labels? bhf.org.uk)

I know a few like the E food codes - yet I have not had any reaction to food I've eaten in the past and now so although it is useful to know what's in our food, it's not vital unless we have a reaction to certain foods and those with gluten.

Out of interest I tried the gluten free shop brand digestive biscuits and they are just as nice as normal digestive biscuits.

Apples are a good source of vitamins and minerals

I like the crunchy variety and because I find myself not eating so much when I've eaten apples but I prefer apple pies which has more calories than a raw apple, which fits in your bag or lunch bag easily and is a fruit that stays as fresh in your bag as in a fridge.

I have tried lemon drizzle cake with poppyseed and it is delicious so this bread sounds like a winter cake to make for a snack during the cold, wintry mid mornings.

If we have to eat snacks healthy snacks like celery sticks and cream cheese instead of crisps a better option

I'd prefer crisps all the time but they are fattening so snacks like celery sticks and cream cheese are a better option in between meals.

Apples, carrot sticks and pineapple and cheese are easier to put together in a small container.

Mental awareness of negative thoughts can help us with our own wellbeing (How mental awareness interferes with negative thinking - Elemental.medium.com)

It can be the weather and just going shopping.

If the day is blustery and rainy, with water puddles everywhere and cars spraying everyone with water as they speed by, it can make our day go badly if we feel cross all day.

Elementa.medium.com explains how mental awareness can interfere with negative thinking:

I sometimes hit the snooze button when my alarm clock goes off. Apparently that can make a person's day less productive and groggy.

I prefer tea sometimes too but coffee in moderation is considered a good morning drink with breakfast.

#wellbeing #thoughtoftheday stay safe and well

I wanted to upload the photo I took in the waiting room after having the Covid vaccine - the Pfizer vaccine which I thought was the Oxford vaccine.

After getting the Covid vaccine I waited in the waiting room for over 15 mintues before the nurse says it's fine to leave.  It is recommended to have the flu jab but it should be taken at least one week after or before.

The next day my arm was stiff. Many I know have taken the same Covid vaccine and are fine - though some say experiencing a headache is one of the side effects.

Stay safe and well everyone!
