Photography that tells a story

The lens directed at the Calypso singer, Aldwin Roberts for a brighter future. It was 1948, and the Empire Windrush docked with many thinking of going back to the armed forces shocked at a reception that brought many to re-focus  in due course, living in different circumstances where skies were gray and the mood sombre yet many still came in large numbers to fill jobs where some were vacant so gradually becoming noticed for being  hardworking and pleasant. 'London is the Place for Me'* a song that resonates still in today's climate. Where we are facing changes so variant. Let us sing and appreciate the talent, we see in all cultures to surpass those whose outlook is less than benevolent. Life changes all the time so there is less room for arrogance, but more for cultural diversity in all its magnificence. The idea of a book came when I went for a coffee with a childhood friend and an artist friend in 2018.  It has been through a few revisions because I mainly use the recipes in the book! A teabreak is essential for recharging throughout the day! Stay safe and well everyone and enjoy your teabreak!   The Poppodom Cafe family blog

The way to

Image
Photo  © Gloire M The way to The road ahead is clear. My mind thinks beyond that and what can be. Looks simple. Nothing to cloud the plans ahead of days when I can be me. The road is straight, and I look ahead.  Everything seems fine. Simple.  Clear and I feel free to think of days when I can grow to look back and see what I have become. A person, discerning and learning. The turning seems to bring  the mystery of being me. Someone who has grown a little to become a straightforward thinker. A learner and a beginner of thoughts that have set me free to be of soughts. © nature thoughts nw

The cycle of Spring

Spring, when apple seeds are planted For summer and the nights when gardens are filled with music. The Tiny Speck that I am

#Day2 of #30DaysWild sent in by Lucy Owens from our Facebook group - 'We were going to ‘nap in nature’ not much napping went on, but we had a chat with some cows!' Brilliant 😂🐮🐄 pic.twitter.com/tlyTIzEJum — 30 Days Wild (@30DaysWild) 2 June 2018 The tiny speck that I am, is nature telling me I have a small place in the scheme of things. Nothing grand. Nothing of essence. #APoemADay https://t.co/qqwmZNI955 — A Naturespath (@a_naturespath) 2 June 2018

The seabed, sojourns in my head for days

Oh, #PygmySeahorse ....where are you...? Pygmy seahorses blend in perfectly with the fan coral they choose to call home. Often, once they've found their specific fan coral, they will spend the rest of their lives attached to it. #scubadiverlife #divingeveryday pic.twitter.com/eSICxeX9Cp — Oceans5dive (@Oceans5Dive) 28 May 2018 The seabed, the mystery that never solves thoughts that pervade my head. Sometimes sojourning for days. #APoemADay — A Naturespath (@a_naturespath) 28 May 2018

Llandudno - Wales

Well we got the weather in Llandudno. Mum and Dad used to take us here when we were little. I’d forgotten how beautiful this part of the Coast is. We submerged in glasses of iced drinks as we cooled in t/shades, and the sun grew hotter in reams. Didn't we aspire? to the night glade when t/sun became《 fierce. And the moon shone in our face. #APoemADay https://t.co/Yd1vFvwbOA — A Naturespath (@a_naturespath) May 23, 2018

Nature framed

Image
(c) nature thoughts nw The clock was right at 10. It didn't falter at 11. It went steadily onwards past midnight 'til it got to 7. The frame stayed in place on the wall. Within poised plants unperplexed, positioned paced, assuming and at peace. Taking centre space, both frame and plants make the time go at a steady pace past nine towards the morning dawn, in time                                  for breakfast. (c) nature thoughts nw

A Winter's Day

Image
             (c) nature thoughts nw I'm in Spring in January. Warm greens and flowers in the frost of mid winter,  reminds me of a cool climate that changes suddenly. Doesn't change to a day in Spring. The cool wind snaps like a branch on a cold day, icicles cascade over frozen puddles crunching beneath gripped soles. The sun shines as it does in Spring. The wind is present in the sharp Wintery air gliding through layers of clothing and sends cold signals throughout my entire being. (c) nature thoughts nw

Christmas Past

Image
(c) nature thoughts nw Christmas Past  Christmas was Mild. Winter's dawn. The day was Calm. As still as the Holly in ivy torn. This was the day Announced. That dinner was with cranberry sauce, specially made for  A family occasion Unannounced. When friends gather at noon On the day that came  Pre announced. Songs sung in voices joined Throughout the day Echoing laughter. More brussel sprouts Double servings. Into the evening Puddings as afters. Monopoly, next to jam roly poly. On a plate with custard or ice cream. Next to the Holly and the Ivy. (c) nature thoughts nw

Nature's Wildlife

Image
Nature's Wildlife The fox gazes out into your inner vision. Foraging for it's mission. Glaring, staring beyond you, peering. Through you. Into a forest that heaves with life. Bustling. Hustling. Granting the bevy of birds, insects and wildlife a place to reside. (c) nature thoughts nw

Leaves pave the Autumn path

Autumnal Morning

Image
(c) nature thoughts nw Autumnal Morning I sat one morning listening to the singing of birds the other day, they sang in the distance, a song I knew very well, but the words escape me as I sat attentively listening, to them chirping to a tune they knew only too well. The song of searching for a time when they could sing together about the countries they've seen, about the food they've tasted.  It didn't matter where it was, as long as it was a place where the season didn't change to cold. They sang a song of longing and they sang and they sang. I didn't know of what but they knew and they sang. Was it of melancholy or was it of countries they wanted to go to? Again I didn't know the answer, only they knew and they sang a song they had sung a million times over of places they'd travelled to and of those they hoped to see.  It didn't matter where they went, it didn't seem to stir them, for they sang and they sang on this mild    ...
