How To Survive An Australian Summer - lifehacker.com.au
1. Drink lots of water throughout the day
2. Use SPF30+ sunscreen 20 minutes before going outdoors and then reapply every 2 hours whilst in the sun.
3. Use a fan at night to prevent mosquitoes buzzing around you and before opening the windows, turn the lights off so they can't see their way into your home.
4. Keep pets cool and healthy throughout the summer months and cool water near them. Do NOT leave pets inside hot cars.
5. Make a bush fire plan; delegate jobs during a bush fire like who will be taking the pets out of the house and to safety; stay informed of any likely bush fires through the state's Rural Fire Service site.
6. Stay cool without an AC by keeping the blinds and doors to rooms not used, closed and by using a fan and taking cold showers.
